Tips to Grow Royal Poinciana

  1. Arrange good quality royal poinciana seeds. The seeds may be soaked in hot water for about 10 minutes before sowing for better germination.
  2. The soil should be Well-drained clay, loamy, sandy soil. It should also have a some amount of natural organic compost to help it develop and grow in the initial stages.
  3. Arrange new seeds tray and sow the royal poinciana seed 1/2 inch deep. After two weeks germination occurs. After two-three weeks when they have two sets of leaves, transplant the seedlings.
  4.  This flower can withstand relatively heavy rainfall, it still needs some moderate to heavy sunshine to germinate and start growing.
  5. After planting add two inch layer of mulch around the plant. Give the tree a balanced liquid fertilizer for four to six weeks after planting and then two to three times per year for the first three years.
  6. This plant can grow up to five feet per year and so matures and develops pretty fast. Give it some room, and it will blossom to be the pride of your garden. It will take 5-6 years to get maturity and well bloom.

4. The seeds are used in making Pangam Oil which is used in tanning industry.

  1. Gulmohar has divergent medicinal properties like antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, antimicrobial, antioxidant, cardio-protective, gastro-protective, and wound healing activity.
