Tips to Grow Chamomile:
- Arrange good quality chamomile seeds.
- The soil should be rich and organic. Add some compost in the soil prior sowing.
- Arrange a tray with several blocks and fill the blocks with soil. Plant your seeds 3/4 inch deep in the soil. Add enough water to make the soil moist. Put seeds under a very light covering of soil.
- After 6-10 days germination occur. Replant the seedlings in pots.
- It usually takes about two-three months from the time the seeds are planted for chamomile to produce flowers.
- Cut flowers throughout summer once they’ve bloomed. Your plants should continue blooming all summer long.
Other uses of chamomile:
- Dried chamomile flowers are used to make chamomile tea.
- Chamomile preparations are commonly used for many human ailments such as hay fever, inflammation, muscle spasms, menstrual disorders, insomnia, ulcers, wounds, gastrointestinal disorders, rheumatic pain, and hemorrhoids.
- Essential oils of chamomile are used extensively in cosmetics and aromatherapy.
