Tips to Grow Water Melon:
- Arrange good quality of water melon seeds.
- The soil should be light, loamy and well-drained in nature, neither too wet nor too dry.
- Directly sow seeds 1 inch deep in the soil. Germination takes place in 10 days, transplant the seedlings. Sow 4 to 6 melon seeds on each mound.
- We can add compost or aged manure for better growth.
- Keep the soil moist until the fruit reaches full size then stop watering while the fruit ripens. Support melons growing the trellis with netting.
- When watermelons are ready to harvest vine tendrils will begin to turn brown and die off. If the tendrils are green the melon is not ripe. Use a sharp knife or garden pruner to cut the watermelon away from the vine.
- Setup a base for the plant to spread properly for your balcony or open garden. Our guide will help you doing this setup.
