Some plants need a base to grow like Ivy, dacorative plants etc. These plants are called climbing plants or climbers. These plants grow against some wall or tree. This blog will help you to setup a support for such plants in balcony, indoor or open gardens.
Building the Setup:
- You can build a seasonal setup for the climber plants at home using coconut, coir or other ropes.
- You can also use metal like iron to build a more stable setup.
- Use coconut, coir etc ropes or iron or wooden sticks to create a a net like structure above 6.5 to 7.5 feet high from the roof. This height is good for collecting the vegetables or enjoying the greenery and is also well below the roof.
- There are many pre-build setups (wooden or metallic) available in the market which you can buy and use in the way mentioned above.
- Provide a base (another string) for the plants which lead the plants to this setup.
Balcony/Indoor Setup:
Open Garden/Rooftop Setup:
For the small plants like green peas you can use sticks or an iron frame with strings as the setup:
Some plants like Gourds/Grapes or Decoratives can be grown agains the wall:
