Tips to Grow Dandelion

  1. Arrange good quality dandelion seeds.
  2. The soil should be evenly moist, but not wet or soggy. It should be rich and alkaline also.
  3. Plant seeds at a fourth to a half-inch deep in pots. The dandelion seed will need to be 6 inches apart for flowers. Leave the seeds uncovered.
  4. We can add well aged compost for better growth.
  5. Cut the dandelion flowers right after they bloom. Use a pair of sharp garden shears to cut the flowers at the base of the stem near the leaves. You can cut the flower from the stem after harvesting and discard the stems.

Other Uses of Dandelion

  • Young, small dandelion greens, also known as baby dandelion greens, are mild in flavor, so they are great in salads and smoothies. However, mature dandelion greens will taste best if you stir-fry them with other ingredients and seasonings, because they can have a bitter flavor.
  • Use new dandelion flowers to make beer, wine, and jelly.
  • Dry dandelion roots and use them for tea.
