Tips to grow Black-Eyed Susan
- Arrange good quality black-eyed Susan seeds.
- The soil should be evenly moist, but not wet or soggy. It should be well draining also.
- Plant the seed 0.25 to 0.5 inches deep in the soil and plant seeds closer to prevent lots of spreading or plant further apart to make a nice border.
- It’s best if soil is fertile though they can tolerate tough conditions.
- Be sure to remove faded/dead flowers to prolong blooming. You can cut back black-eyed Susans after they flower and a second, smaller bloom may occur in late fall.
- After the first season, black-eyed Susans can reseed themselves!
