Tips to Grow Alyssum

  1. Arrange good quality alyssum seeds.
  2. The soil should be evenly moist, but not wet or soggy. It should be neutral also.
  3. Effective way to start healthy Alyssum saplings is by germinating seeds indoors using seed trays, under bright light.
  4. Simply scatter seeds in pot and gently press them down.
  5. Alyssums don’t need fertilizers. You can use water soluble fertilizer.
  6. Trim the tops removing half the growth. This will not only help to keep them compact, but will also encourage further flowering. A second set of seedlings may be planted at the end of the summer for flowers to continue blooming throughout the year.
  7. Using a sharp knife, harvest by cutting a clean angled edge. Remove any foliage that will fall below the surface of water of a vase.
