Tips to Grow Periwinkle
- Arrange good quality periwinkle seeds/divisions or nursery plant.
- The soil should be evenly moist, but not wet or soggy. Enrich the soil with compost, manure and peat moss to improve drainage before planting.
- Propagation by divisions and nursery plants is more preferable than seeds.
- Plant the periwinkle division (5-8 cm long) nursery plant in the soil. Sow one cutting in each container.
- Mulch dry soils to conserve moisture.
- Plants are ready after every 12 months for planting. Harvesting is done at interval of 3 months. The roots, leaves, seeds and flowers are collected separately and are used for medicinal purposes or for vegetative propagation.
