Tips to Grow Periwinkle

  1. Arrange good quality periwinkle seeds/divisions or nursery plant.
  2. The soil should be evenly moist, but not wet or soggy. Enrich the soil with compost, manure and peat moss to improve drainage before planting.
  3. Propagation by divisions and nursery plants is more preferable than seeds.
  4. Plant the periwinkle division (5-8 cm long) nursery plant in the soil. Sow one cutting in each container.
  5. Mulch dry soils to conserve moisture.
  6. Plants are ready after every 12 months for planting. Harvesting is done at interval of 3 months. The roots, leaves, seeds and flowers are collected separately and are used for medicinal purposes or for vegetative propagation.
