Tips to Grow Hibiscus:

  1. Arrange good quality cutting/seeds of hibiscus.
  2. Hibiscus does not grow well in wet, waterlogged conditions, preferring soils that are moist but well-drained.
  3. Soak seeds in warm water for one hour before sowing. Sow the seeds 1/4 inch in the soil. Grow one plant in each pot.
  4. If you want to grow hibiscus by cuttings in your open garden, dig a hole at least twice the length of cutting and carefully place your hibiscus cutting into its own individual hole. Plant spacing should be 2-3 feet.
  5. Mulch around the plant to retain moisture and to provide protection for the roots.
  6. Deadhead and prune hibiscus to encourage the best blooms. Harvest the flowers of hibiscus when they reach desired color and size.
