Tips to Grow Sweet William

  1. Arrange good quality sweet william seeds.
  2. The soil should be evenly moist, but not wet or soggy. It should be  rich fertile, mildly alkaline and well draining. You can add organic fertilizer at time of planting.
  3. Plant the seed 1/4 inch deep in the soil. It will take 10-15 days for the seeds to germinate.
  4. We can add compost and can 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the plants. This will also improve air circulation and moisture retention.
  5. Two to three weeks after transplanting give the plants a soft pinch by removing just enough tissue to remove growing point, while leaving four to six leaf pairs.
  6. Pick the fresh flowers for garnishes and toppings. It is best to pick them in the morning before the sunlight falls upon the plant to retain its aroma and freshness.
