Tips to Grow Alyssum
- Arrange good quality alyssum seeds.
- The soil should be evenly moist, but not wet or soggy. It should be neutral also.
- Effective way to start healthy Alyssum saplings is by germinating seeds indoors using seed trays, under bright light.
- Simply scatter seeds in pot and gently press them down.
- Alyssums don’t need fertilizers. You can use water soluble fertilizer.
- Trim the tops removing half the growth. This will not only help to keep them compact, but will also encourage further flowering. A second set of seedlings may be planted at the end of the summer for flowers to continue blooming throughout the year.
- Using a sharp knife, harvest by cutting a clean angled edge. Remove any foliage that will fall below the surface of water of a vase.
