Tips to Grow Indian Gooseberry:

  1. Arrange good quality of Indian gooseberry rootball or budded seedlings from nursery.
  2. The soil should be loamy and well-drained in nature, neither too wet nor too dry.
  3. Directly sow budded seedlings in the soil. After 10-15 days transplant the seedlings.
  4. Mulching is also an effective way to control soil weeds. In summer, mulching is done from the base of tree up to 4-5 inches of the trunk.
  5. Give water to the plant through drips in winter season. Young plants should be protected up to 3 years from hot winds in summer season.
  6. Plant starts yielding in about 7-8 years after planting.  Harvesting is done by vigorous shaking of tree. When fruits get fully mature they turn into dull greenish-yellow color.
