Tips to Grow Jackfruit:

  1. Arrange good quality of jack-fruit seeds.
  2. Or we can directly purchase budded/grafted plants that will start fruiting from 5-6 year onwards.
  3. Light, fast-draining potting soil is perfect. You can use fortified soils. It should be neither too wet nor too dry.
  4. Place your seeds in a bowl or container with lukewarm water. Let them sit for a full day before sowing them.
  5. Plant 3 seeds 1 inch deep in the soil. Don’t let the seeds grow near the edges, otherwise the roots may not develop fully.
  6. It will take 2-3 weeks for your seedlings to germinate. Remove the weaker seedlings by gently pulling them out of the soil and transplant.
  7. We can add compost or manure for better growth. We can mulch the plant, which retains the moisture and temperature.
  8. After the third or fourth year, your tree will begin developing viable fruit. Within 4 to 5 months, young fruit will begin to ripen and can be picked from the tree. They will have a sweet odor and have a green or yellowish tint.
