Tips to grow potatos:

  1. Before 1-2 days of seeding, cut each seed potato in 1.5 to 2 inches in size, and must contain at least 1 “eye” or “bud”.
  2. The soil should be evenly moist, but not wet or soggy.
  3. Plant the seed potato with the eye facing up and about 4 inches deep in the soil.
  4. Potatoes need nitrogen and phosphorous for better growth, we can add compost made by animal waste (cow or horse), kitchen waste, wasted fruits and grass.
  5. Once plants reach 6 inches tall but before they begin to flower, the gardener can start hilling around the plant to avoid potatos getting sun burnt.
  6. When the plants are ready for harvensting, cut the upper part of the plant and dig in gently to get potatos.
